My wedding gift mixer (a Sunbeam Mixmaster) turned 33 per week before Christmas, and my husband thought the time had come that i can possess a brand new one. He gifted me on Christmas using the KitchenAid 5 Quart Stand Mixer. Artisan in white. I really like this mixer and leave it on my counter, something I never did using the Mixmaster. Recently i purchased the citrus juicer attachment from Amazon and am very pleased by using it too. I have not read all 109 previous reviews on this site, but I've read a few that were disgruntled because their Artisans did not mix well. I initially had the same trouble with the beater/bowl clearance. It is very easy to remedy. There is a beater adjustment screw on the mixer and the manual describes steps to make the adjustments. I acquired even better instructions by calling customer care at KitchenAid. The technician told me to drop a dime to the empty bowl, turn the mixer on (about setting 2) using the flat beater, also it should move the dime 1/4" to 1/2" every time it rotates round the bowl. This is the right clearance for that beater to combine everything at the end from the bowl, but not low enough to cause wear on the beater from constant friction with the bottom of the bowl during usage. I tweaked the screw setting 1/4 turn every time until I acquired that dime moving. At this setting, I can now beat just one egg white to stiff peaks in the 5 qt. bowl. That's impressive.
KitchenAid 5 Quart Stand Mixer are as sturdy like a tank, and you can hear the standard since it mixes. Although I had previously purchased a KitchenAid mixer for my daughter like a gift, I'd not have splurged on a single for myself. I'm so happy my husband thought I had been worth it!

Well, here I am reviewing the KitchenAid 5 Quart Stand Mixer. I am not quite sure generate an income experience this mixer being the high point of my entire week when it arrived, but I guess now that I've hit 30 there's something I have to be prepared for. I'm the kind of woman that likes to cook but hates to clean up. This thing is easy to wash – although I must say The manufacturers should whisk could be make the dishwasher. I've had minor issues with things spending money and so i do believe I will get the mixing/pouring shield. I love the wide variety of attachments available – I'm considering getting the slicer attachment to create hash browns/french fries/au gratin potatoes. I'd wondered concerning the quantity of property this mixer would take up on my countertop, but it is not bad. For being factory-reconditioned, I didn't notice any flaws with my machine. No scratches, dings, nothing. I researched and investigated all of the  KitchenAid 5 Quart Stand Mixer  that are available currently. The KitchenAid Professional 5 Plus came out as the winner in the reviews. After using the mixer for 9 months I am thoroughly convinced that it is the best.
I was totally sold on this KitchenAid the first time I used the mixer to knead a large batch of whole wheat bread dough. The KitchenAid Pro 5 was more than able to easily handle the 8 minutes of kneading. In addition, it whips egg whites beautifully and made easy work of turning out homemade marshmallows.
On the down side, the unit is heavy. It is definitely easier to have a place set aside on a countertop as the mixer's "home" than to have to lift/move it from a cabinet or closet.
One feature that this KitchenAid mixer offers is the bowl lift lever. On the Artisan mixer the whole top part of the unit tips back to allow access to the bowl and then tips forward to place the whip/whisk attachment into the bowl for usage. On the Professional 5 Plus (and several other KitchenAid mixer models) the whole top portion of the unit moves up and down to accommodate moving and removing the mixing bowl.
This mixer has a lot of power and looks great, too. And the Amazon price is the best I was able to find. Sometimes KitchenAid offers a rebate and you can really get a great appliance for a very reasonable price.

I've looked over and drooled over KitchenAid Artisan mixers for a long time. But at prices north of $300 this KitchenAid didn't seem like a reasonable investment personally. After i saw the reconditioned machine on Amazon to have an astonishingly low price I figured, "why not?" I love to bake making bread and, particularly for bread making, most stand mixers don't endure well.
I've had my KitchenAid 5 Quart Stand Mixer for about per month. I have made bread and tons of Christmas cookies. I've whipped egg whites and whipping cream. I've whipped up garlic mashed potatoes and pumpkin bread. I cannot say enough relating to this wonderful machine. It is truly heavy duty and also you never need to worry that the extra thick dough or batter is going to burn the motor up.
The description of "factory-reconditioned" would be a machine that had been returned to the factory and brought back to "like new" condition," but may have a small blemish. Mine includes a small ding in the white finish but it is so small you would not notice it should you weren't expressly searching for it.
I really like KitchenAid 5 Quart Stand Mixer! It's substantial–a serious cooking and baking tool. Yes, it takes up precious room on my tiny kitchen counter, but I'm pleased to have it there. If you crave one of these mechanical monsters, but are on the limited budget, I highly recommend a reconditioned KitchenAid. This machine on Amazon was less expensive compared to small, four quart classic on sale at Kohl's or WalMart¡§Cand it's a bigger, more powerful machine.

I really like this KitchenAid 5 Quart Stand Mixer. All I had to complete to put it together was hook it up.
